Conversations at Dinner Parties

Inspired by Cy Twombly and the sea, my latest collection Conversations has been a year in the making.

It’s been a year of dubious health but in some ways that too has been a gift, forcing me to slow down and take stock. My focus this year has become defining “What is the good life” to me, and aiming to put my many loves into their rightful places.

One thing that has remained consistent for me is my love of dinner parties. I loathe to cook for functional meals, but cooking and sharing hosting experiences with friends are some of my favourite nights. I wanted my latest collection to be part of that. I wanted my paintings to feel like they could become the backdrop to intimate conversations, food and laughter. As much as the collection title is about the conversation between the marks on the canvas, it’s also about the conversation with the viewer and the art, and the way the art fits in with the conversations around it.

My friend @littlesisterco let me shoot this collection in her apartment (between making dumplings and talking sh*t) and I’m in love with the results.
